Megan T. Guffey  was born and raised in Mammoth Lakes, California, a town nestled in the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains.  Landscapes bring her exponential joy, yet she photographs all activities, events, family, and scenes with the same excitement, zest, and commitment.  New life is breathed into revisited memories in the form of photographs. Details of long forgotten stories are dusted off and set to shine once again.  We are reminded of the many blessings in our lives and once again rearrange our perspectives.

Although graduating with a BA in Kinesiology from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, Megan maintains a well-rounded lifestyle.  "There are too many fun things to do..." People often say she wears many hats.  Some of her hats include being actively involved as participant, photographer, volunteer, and/or  teacher/coach/instructor for the following:

  • Mono County Sheriff Search and Rescue (MoSAR)

  • Disabled Sports of the Eastern Sierra (DSES)

  • NOLS Expeditions/ NOLS Wilderness Medicine

  • Physical Education Teacher for Eastern Sierra Unified School District

  • Member of the Eastern Sierra Chamber Orchestra & Eastern Sierra Pops Orchestra (trombone)

  • Mammoth Lakes Jazz Jubilee and Camp

  • Art & Photography at Scottsdale Artist School,  Mountain Light Gallery, & Visionary Wild

  • Wilderness First Responder, EMT, & SRT-1

  • Other: swing dancing, music, theater, and more

She has explored Kyrgyzstan, Patagonia, Europe, Israel, and the Western United States with camera in hand whether it be whitewater rafting/racing, backpacking, or simply traveling.  She is thankful to God for his wonderful creation and loves to capture and share the extraordinary beauty that surrounds us.
